Volunteer Community Garden Director Needed

The City of Bryant is searching for a Volunteer Community Garden Director.   Take a look over the job description and if you are interested APPLY HERE 


Purpose: The Volunteer Community Garden Director is responsible for recruiting and organizing volunteers, assigning garden plots, overseeing and approving what is planted, and ultimately caring for the community garden plots at Bishop Park

Time Commitment: 5-8 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign Garden Plots to community members

  • Create Educational Opportunities 

  • Prescribe and oversee the care for the garden, including, but not limited to weeding, watering, pruning, etc.

  • Communicating with Parks Dept. any issues, supplies needs, or other needs 

  • Oversee the harvesting

  • Enforcing Community Garden Rules

  • Organizing Volunteers  

  • Evaluate and report Community Garden Program Results

  • Support social media and community communication strategies such as flyers, presentations or telephone calls if needed.

Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Experience Gardening

  • Experience in Volunteer Recruitment 

  • Strong Communication Skills both written and verbal

  • Ability to interact in a professional, courteous and confidential manner with volunteers and park staff

  • Strong Problem Solving Skills
