Central Arkansas Soccer Club approached the City of Bryant in 2019 regarding a need for additional lighting at Midland Soccer Field. At that time, the project was on the capital improvement list for parks to seek and find funding for in the future. In 2020, the Bryant City Council approved approximately $71,000 to be set aside from previously collected A&P money for this project with an understanding that they would re-approach the funding timeline if CASC was able to assist in fundraising efforts for the project in the future.
During February’s city council meeting CASC President Micki Wilbur and Vice President Jeff Hall were in attendance and announced that through their membership and volunteers the club was committing $50,000.00 towards the park lighting project. After reviewing the recommendation from the Bryant Parks Committee to move forward with new lighting for the fields, the city council voted to fund the project to be completed in the upcoming months.
